Nothing fancy. An old school red sauce joint that covers everything in crimson and isn't stingy with the cheese. The chicken parm and pasta may make your sainted grandmother's gold teeth spin with envy as the entire menu is full of familiar favorites drowning in long simmering tomato goodness. Definitely not a place to impress a first date but on the fifth or sixth rendezvous, your street savvy might get you some extra credit. Five easy stars.
Villa Rosa is a staple at our house. We've tried a lot of food from here and everything is pretty good. I wish I could give a 3.5 - I find their entrees a little on the salty side, but they have decent flavor. Their pizza is typical north jersey pies. Nothing extraordinary, but always good. Their desserts are really good. I always get a slice of carrot cake and my husband gets a slice of cheese cake. Check it out. It's always our choice when we're in a pinch.
As first timers here, I was pleasantly surprised. We weren't expecting anything great, since there aren't many good restaurants in this area. We were seated in a nice, clean booth and were served complimentary, steaming hot bread and butter. We also ordered Mozzarella Sticks, which were yummy. All entrees were served with a salad. We had the shrimp in pink sauce, eggplant parmigiana, and the baked ziti special (which also came with soup). Everything was amazing, but I couldn't stop eating from my husband's shrimp in pink sauce. He says I ate his food more than mine. Great experience, we will be back.
